Welcome

Welcome to the London Photo Hunt of the Temple University 2009 Summer Seminar in London.

As a part of their studies in London, the students in our program will complete a photo-based scavenger hunt, in the form of this photoblog.  They will capture the essence of this amazing city from the unique perspective of a group of young American students.   The list of required images in the photohunt has been created to force the students to look deeper into the city, to really think about what they are observing, and how they might present it to the world.  Some of the shot descriptions are intentionally vague, to force their creativity.  The students are encouraged not to submit off-the-cuff snapshots, but to think about composition, about framing and light, and about what they are omitting from the frame as well as what they are including.  The students must strive to compose interesting, thought-provoking, critical shots.  They will look for drama, for mystery, for emotion, for information.

All of the images in this photoblog were produced by students of Temple University.  Any questions about the photoblog or about Temple University’s summer program in London should be directed to Professor Dustin Morrow at morrow@temple.edu.

Thank you for reading, and enjoy the photographs.
